Peru is a destination privileged for tourism. Peru owns a legacy from an old colonial tradition. It also owns one of the richest biodiversity of the planet: a true mix of different cultures. At the base of the Cordillera de los Andes is Peru, tropical country that is divided into three regions or climatic zones directly correlated with the relief: the Coast, the Highlands and the Jungle. With a population that exceeds 28 million of inhabitants within its 25 regions politically organized. Among the most visited we can mention Amazonas, Tumbes, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, La Libertad, Ica, Arequipa, Cusco, Puno and Madre de Dios. The Coast, is located between the Pacific Ocean and Cordillera de los Andes. Its relief is mild; you can find dunes and hills that are the buttress of the Cordillera de los Andes. Its climate is subtropical arid, from December to April (Summer), with temperatures at around 27º C; from May to November, the temperature can lower until 12º C with a lot of atmospheric humidity and little fluvial precipitation.The Highlands, is located at the base of the Andes, the surface represents 26% of the total surface of Peru. Its relief is rough, with great slopes, deep ravines, high mountains, within it you can find Cordilleras along Peru. Its climate is of subtropical type of mountain, with two marked seasons: the dry period, from May to September (Tourist Season), and the rains seasons from October to April.The Jungle, is located to the East of the Cordillera de los Andes, and covers an area of about 63% of the total surface of the country. Within this territory exists a varied diversity of flora and fauna. The upper jungle, or jungle fringe area includes the low part of the Eastern slope of the Cordillera de los Andes, its relief is too rough. The lower jungle is covered by tropical vegetation, with little geographical relief.
