ARTESONRAJU MOUNTAIN

The snow-capped mountain Artesonraju of 6025 meters in height is one of the most experienced climbs in the Cordillera Blanca because of its wall of 850 meters and with an inclination 55º to 70º. It is located in the Paron valley. The Artesonraju has 6 routes among its different walls, the first ascent was in 1932, in this case it was not by the normal route but by the North edge. Currently the expeditions are made by the wall that was climbed in 1969, with a degree of difficulty (D).

1º Day  :                Huaraz – Parón – C.B. (3090 m. – 4200 m.)

2º Day :                C.B. – C.1. (4200 m. – 5100 m.)

3º Day :                C.1 – Cumbre – C.1 (5100 m. – 6025 m.)

4º Day :                C.1 - C.B. (5100 m. – 4200 m.)

5º Day :                C.B. – Parón – Huaraz (4200 m. – 3090 m.)
